What is chiropractic
A health profession concerned with the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of mechanical disorders of the musculoskeletal system, and the effects of these disorders on the function of the nervous system and general health. There is an emphasis on manual treatments including spinal adjustment and other joint and soft tissue manipulation according to World Federation of Chiropractic, 2001.
By World Federation of Chiropractic, 2001 Chiropractic is regulated by Act of Parliament in the United Kingdom. The chiropractic profession is regulated by the law (Chiropractic Act 1994) and this gives regulatory powers to the General Chiropractic Council (GCC). To legally use the title "chiropractor" in the UK, a practitioner must be registered with the General Chiropractic Council (GCC).
